there aren't any donut shops open at 3am, Bill.

Did you know that there is a beer store at the Lodi outlets?

Just so you all know, Chris is bringing two cars but that will be it for that early on Wednesday. 3 more leaving C-bus at around 9:30. BTW, if you have not traveled with Chris before, have a fun trip. And that is all I will say, lol. More Columbus folks the next 2 days.

Well, so far everything went as usual.

With one exception, people arrived at or just after the departure time (5:15) and then went in the restaurant to get something to eat and talk about stuff. Finally, about 5:45 (when all the big trucks from the truck stop were trying to get on the highway) the group decided to get on the freeway too. Over the CB radio I heard one truck driver say "there's a 240Z in a Z rally group coming your way southbound." I added that they were going to the national convention in Tennessee. The truck driver was impressed.

Sorry Bill, no donuts. Both donut shops I drive by ( at 3:40am) were closed or dark. I thought about getting donuts the night before, but didn't want to put up with (stale donut comments.)

The weather forecast looks good with a 'change' of rain most days.

Good luck to the "Cleveland club" and bring back some tall, gold things. Try not to crack any bumpers or air dams.

thxZ

Tom, Thanks for your support this morning. What a trip, the biggest problem was the 1-1/2 hour wait in the registration line. All that aside, as a "newcomer" I want to thank Chris, Karen and their group for their hard work and dedication in "ram-rodding" this event, it was impressive to see them in action. When you think about it the 1-1/2 hnour wait was nothing to the time these people put forth to make ZCON10 a success.

Negotiating the crowd of trucks was fun, to say the least. Since I was coming up from behind, they were always pulling out right behind me, and those headlights are the same height as my mirors. :x They didn't seem to mind much, the group of Japanese cars passing by.

I got a flip-flop about 20 miles down the road from the on-ramp, and caught the sunrise on the way back. There are dark clouds over Parma Hts. right now, but that's Parma Hts. for you. :P

No worries, mate. I think everyone in the club should come out for an event like that- Just in case/ for the halibut/for the fun of it.

Something I got in a recent email message:

HOTEL KEY CARDS

Ever wonder what is on your magnetic key card?

a. Customer's name

B. partial home address

c. Hotel room number

d. Check-in date and out dates

E. credit card number and expiration date

Also, the weather will be odd on Tuesday (a chance of rain, but cooler) when the Solon cruise-in features the 2-set sportscars, so it should still be a good day to go, as long as your top will go up.

thxZ

They have come up with some good stuff lately, no? I was wondering why you'd need your name on a card that only opens the lock on your door, like a metal key does. There is nothing on a key but the room number (maybe.)

thx

Just a short note from Paula & I on our 2nd day at ZCON 10. We went over to the Embassy this morning and spent a couple of hours just looking at Z's. Every model & year was represented.
After that we visited with relatives in the area, and made it downtown to the Wildhorse Saloon by 6 p.m., where we had the run of the 2nd floor area for a great dinner, country dancing and good friendship. really impressed with the quality of this outing.

I'm not surprised that Karl & Ray quickly found the beer, and Bill found the food.

An idea I got for the future would be to set up a few webcams in places like the registration/Zstore room, the central area or parking lot, and, if possible, one or two at the car show. That way, people who are unable to go can still see what it's like. :)

Friday. Paula & I got up early and headed to Lynchburg, Tennessee to do the Jack Daniels distillery tour. Awesome tour, but the best part was the early morning drive through the Tennessee backroads as the morning fog was lifting, and the waves you got and gave to all the Z's you passed on the highway.
We got back to the hotel about 1, took a short rest before heading out again, this time to visiting the Lane Automobile Museum in Nashville. This is a great automobile museum, with a little bit of everything for the car enthusiast. Afterward, dinner, and then back to the hotel to clean the bugs and road grime off of the Z for the show tomorrow.
