Cleveland Z Club - Nissan & Datsun Z Car Club

All,

So I can coordinate time on the lift and in the garage, I'd like to know who is coming and has things they'd like to work on during the day. The house garage has room for four cars (one lift) so I need to think a bit about work to be conducted.

We're hoping weather cooperates and likely will have the grill going with hamburgers, hot-dogs, etc. Feel free to bring a dish to share with your fellow members.

Project help requests thus far:
- Rick Orelli - adjust headlights and front fascia, paint calipers
- Chris MD Karl (my nephew with Z32 2+2) - New brake pads and brake system flush
- Mike Prehn - brake job (pads & fluid flush)
- Glenn - check underside of car on lift
- Kburg711 - short-throw shifter install (350z)
- ...?
- ...?

Get those bolt-on and other project parts and let us know what you have in mind. We typically have several sets of hands to help out...should be a fun and productive time getting the Z's ready for the season.

GARAGE OPENS AT 10AM so we have plenty of time to get all the various work done and enjoy some social time along the way as well. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share!! :)

I plan to attend for the chit-chat. No project planned.

I need to do my brake pads and flush / replace brake fluid (changing to high temp). If time allows, I also have silicone coolant hoses to change out as well.

I'll be there, the Fossil is pretty well done (for now). I'll bring a brake bleeder, and of course "TACO SALAD". JIm Roark

Thinking of getting Red Halos for my headlights, I know it doesn't need the lift but would anyone be able to help installing them? Here's a DIY for 06+ but mines an 05 so not really sure the differences.

Jen and I plan on being there. Assuming I have the suspension back together, and the car there, I need to drain the diff., remove the cover, install the new gasket, and reinstall and fill. I have no real experience with this, so help, and maybe a bit of elevation would help greatly.

I actually, for once, dont seem to need anything,,, the z is running great.. but I"ll show up to assist with humor and jesting and other things that don't require huge amounts of brain power.. God knows, I dont want to over do it....

ok,, SLIGHT change in thinking.. once upon a time, I and a cousin in Burton (who also has a lift) put my new headlights in.. after much effort, we were rushed in reassembling the fascia.. it's a little off kilter and could use straigtening up on the drivers side (the fit is a little off)

SOOOOOOO, perhaps thats something I'd like to work on... not urgent and can certainly take a back seat to other more important things... But if time allows and room on the lift exists.. that would be kinda cool..

That only leaves the painting of the calipers.. and that's just not a rush at all..

We will be there I don't think I will do anything on my car but I will help out with whatever. Kevin I will help you with your halo installation if you want. We will bring a dish not sure what yet.

I will most likely be there! A break from school would be nice. I just got my Powertrix coilovers in the mail today and I also have braided steel brake lines and new brake pads. There could be a chance I will install them before tech day but thats not a garuntee. I will bring food of some sort as well.

Unfortunetley I won't be putting on the HALO's because I dont have 06+ headlights
But I may be buying a short throw shifter, not exactly sure if you need the lift for install though?

Is little Chris changing rotors as well or just replacing pads onto his new 300Z?

Glenn hopes to get on the lift for about 20 minutes to check for condition of under side ...trip in July to Rochester NY for All Japan Car Show held by the Rochester NY Z Club.
Anybody else interested in this weekend?? Will bring info with me.
